What is Yoga

What is Yoga...???

Yoga defines itself as a science for the physical, mental and spiritual practices which originated in ancient India. Yoga is also one of the six schools of the Hindu philosophy but it’s not related to any particular religious. Yoga works as a systematic discipline or set of techniques that have the lofty goal of helping human beings to become aware of their deepest nature. The goal of seeking to experience this deepest potential is not part of a religious process.

In simple words, yoga is a” way of life” the practice of yoga is really an exploration of ourselves on physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual levels. It provides a logical, step-by-step process for awareness and true understanding of our selves and of the universe around us.

One of the most detailed and thorough expositions on the subject is the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, which defines yoga as "the stilling of the changing states of the mind" (योग: चित्त-वृत्ति निरोध:)Yoga has also been popularly defined as "union with the divine" in other contexts and traditions.
